Governance & Principles

Terms & Charter

The guiding code of conduct, ethics framework, and rules for ambassadors, partners, and community hubs.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Initiative Charter

By accessing or using the PBAT Smart Nation Initiative platform, services, or training resources, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service and our Initiative Charter. The PBAT Smart Nation Initiative is an independent, non-governmental advocacy and awareness organization. Our primary purpose is to advocate for grassroots digital transition, facilitate basic computer literacy workshops, and establish community coding libraries across Nigerian Local Government Areas (LGAs). All volunteers, coordinators, partners, and ambassadors agree to act strictly in accordance with this core mandate. If you do not agree to these terms, you must refrain from using our services or representing our brand.

2. Ambassador Registration & Account Security

To participate as a grassroots ambassador or coordinator, users must complete our registration process and provide accurate, current, and complete personal and location information (including State, LGA, and Ward). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify the initiative directorate of any unauthorized use of your credentials or any other breach of security. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false details or violate our security guidelines.

3. Ambassador Code of Conduct

Ambassadors are expected to maintain the highest levels of civic integrity, non-partisanship in community execution, and professional ethics. When operating local training centers, managing solar kits, or hosting public broadband hotspots, all representatives agree to:

  • Provide free, equal, and non-discriminatory access to all students, regardless of their background, beliefs, or affiliations.
  • Protect, maintain, and secure all shared computer hardware, power accessories, router terminals, and solar arrays.
  • Avoid representing the initiative for unauthorized personal, business, or political fundraising activities.
  • Conduct community sensitization town halls and webinars in a respectful, professional, and educational manner.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, educational modules, curriculum guides, policy reviews, software code, logos, and brand assets displayed on this platform are the exclusive property of the PBAT Smart Nation Initiative or its licensors. Users and ambassadors are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and print these materials strictly for personal, educational, and non-commercial community sensitization use. Any unauthorized copying, distribution, modification, or commercial exploitation of these assets without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

5. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

The resources, training modules, and public guides provided on this platform are for educational and sensitization purposes only. While we strive to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and safety of all technical templates and recommendations, local coordinators implement them at their own discretion and risk. Under no circumstances shall the PBAT Smart Nation Initiative, its directors, partners, or coordinators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, our platform resources, computer hardware, or network installations.
